Last week’s show was pre-recorded in advance, as I was visiting London and Paris for the first time. So, I didn’t feature any new music. Back in the studio tonight, so here’s a look at a couple of albums I want to shine a light on.
One of the things I like best about hosting this particular radio show is finding artists who are quietly recording and releasing their own music into the wild, with no (apparent) desire of becoming stars; just people wanting to add a touch of beauty and grace to the world.
This new record from Budapest, by an artist called simply Klara S, is a prime example. Gorgeous melodies, spare arrangements with ample room for the lyrics to speak to the listener, occasional piano or guitar flourishes over synthesised backgrounds, and a truly exquisite. occasionally multi-tracked voice puts this record squarely in my sweet spot. Well worth seeking out!
